Early design sketch for vases
I wanted to have an element that would always be renewable, ever-changing, and full of life – literally. Since people like to bring fresh flowers when they visit a memorial, it made perfect sense to incorporate vases into the bench itself. The final design featured small glass jars underneath the top of the bench which could be removed for cleaning and filling with water.
